Photobucket Easter Monday Lunch @ The Cafe at BlueBird

Beautiful weather again on this Long Easter Weekend!

Before work routine begins again tomorrow, a quick trip to Chelsea to enjoy this
amazing feeling of being sun-kissed!

Lunch @ The Cafe at Bluebird

And of course, we simply could not resist a stop at The Bluebird Cafe for lunch!

First while we were waiting to get our table, we were a bit put off with the service
which was a bit of 'could not care less attitude' but once we were seated, it got better...
She did not smile much but she was polite and even wished us to enjoy our meal
when all our food was served. Nice touch.

Beautiful Bluebird Burger

Today, I decided to go for the full on Bluebird Burger with cheese!! Absolutely delicious!!
Cooked just like I wanted and oh so very juicy! Served with some homemade
coleslaw and a pickled guerkin with a little pot of salsa on the side. Yum!

Crispy Golden Fish and Chips
As for Mr. A, he went for Fish and Chips. Not usually a big fan of fish, I was surprised
when he actually said it was really good and I could not agree more after having a
big bite from him! Super crispy coat of batter on the outside and soft and flaky
on the inside, accompanied with a pot of tartare sauce. Simple and delicious!

A long Easter Weekend ending beautifully!

Photobucket Beautiful Easter in London! ~ Brunch at Valerie's ~

~ HAPPY EASTER ~

What a beautiful Easter Weekend!  Blessed with wonderful hot and sunny days,
there is no wonder why the parks in London have been so packed and busy
these past few days!

To celebrate Easter Sunday, Mr. A and I decided to stay away from Central
and we took a nice little walk close to home soaking up the sun.
Strolling by buzzing Spitalfields Market, we stopped for brunch at Patisserie Valerie.

Brunch at Patisserie Valerie is one of my favourite! It's uncomplicated, good selection
of choices on their menu and their Egg Benedict Royal is simply to die for!
I particularly like how they serve the poached eggs on a toasted slice of brioche
which is crunchy on the outside, but still soft on the inside. In addition, I find the
sweet taste of the brioche complimenting the hollandaise sauce and the
poached eggs wonderfully. Not to mention the smoked salmon, which is served
just in the right amount. A little bit more would overpower the dish, while a little
less would leave an unsatisfied customer! (ie. me!)  I have not yet had any better
Eggs Benedict Royal! So I'm still on the look out!

Happy Day in the Sun with Mr. A @ Patisserie Valerie

Mr. A decided to go for a Valerie's Burger to satisfy his hunger.
Served with golden French Fries and salad, it was a very copious meal!
For drinks, we both went for an Iced Caffe Frappe.

What a Wonderful Brunch it was!!

Photobucket Ya Kun Kaya Toast - The Best Kaya Toast in Singapore!

When in Singapore, you must add YA KUN to PLACES TO TRY eating list!
Forget about Hotel breakfast and head out to look for a Ya Kun Kaya Toast
outlet and go for the traditional Singaporean style breakfast!

I had never heard of Kaya Toast before visiting Singapore.

Kaya is a coconut egg jam with pandan leave flavour.
Being a big fan of anything coconut, it was "love at first sight" ...
or first "taste" shall I say :)

My favourite of all time is the peanut butter and kaya toast.
A true moment of bliss! You simply need to sit back and enjoy!

My favourite Toast @ Ya Kun

To accompany your toast, have a cup of kopi (coffee) served extremely hot
(so you better be warned).

Kopi

To have a full Singaporean breakfast experience, go for the Kaya Toast set
that comes with two runny eggs, two slices of kaya toast and a kopi.
The Runny Egg requires some acquired taste to enjoy as it is very (very) runny
but note that getting them ready do need some skills!
Mix it up with some soya sauce and pepper, dip your toast in it and crunch.
Welcome to Singapore!

Photobucket Back in London and ready to update!

I'm now back from my day job business trip and I have so much to share with you!! (Food-related of course! ;)

So many wonderful experiences! I was first in Singapore and then Hong Kong during the past three weeks and I guess I cannot complain ... I was very well fed! :)

Once all pictures are organised, I'll make sure to share the good tips of where to go and what to try in HK and Singapore! I'm so lucky to have great friends who have shown me around in the 2 great cities in Asia!

I'm so excited! I wish I could do all of it faster ... but I still need to enjoy the lovely long and Sunny Easter Weekend in London! These sunny days are so rare that you just need to make the most of it when they happen!

Wishing everyone a very Happy Easter!

With Love ,
