Photobucket Sunday Brunch at 3 South Place - Moorgate

3 South Place
Have you heard of it? It is a new-ish boutique luxury hotel set in the City of London near Moorgate, few minutes from Liverpool Street with beautiful and stylish Conran interior design.

I guess it is still very much a secret for all but once you get to know it, you will definitely be coming back or be recommending it to friends! I've visited 3 South Place twice now and have enjoyed their lovely Sunday Brunch Menu both times with the loveliest company!

So during the weekend, there is a special weekend brunch menu where you can choose from having 2 courses for £20 or 3 courses for £25. Pretty reasonable especially knowing that the Executive Chef Tony Fleming only uses the freshest seasonal and local ingredients to prepare his menu.

Additionally, you can also add unlimited Bloody Mary's, Prosecco, Bellinis or Mimosas to the set menu, whilst you dine for an additional £15! So if you are celebrating something and need the bubbles flowing ... This is a great place to be!

On my first visit I had the Virgin Bloody Mary (since I do not drink alcohol), however sadly this was not part of the unlimited deal... Ah! It was yummy anyway! :p The hint of tabasco always gives the kick needed to start a lovely brunch!

The Cappuccino was also sooooo nice! The froth so smooth and yum!

Seriously smooth cappuccino with beautiful froth art!

Have a look of the dishes tried and tested ...  They were as tasty as they look beautiful!

- STARTERS -

English Muffin - Poached egg, hollandaise sauce and smoked salmon

Yorkshire Chorizo & Fried egg on Toast

- MAIN COURSE -

Day Boat Fish pie, soft quail eggs and chive sauce

Red Hereford Steak served with fried free range egg & chips

Heron's Farm Longhorn Hamburger with Blythburgh bacon and Cheddar cheese

Cumberland sausage & mash with caramelised onion & sage gravy

- SIDES -

- DESSERTS -

Baked Cheesecake with Blackberry Compote

Chocolate Fudge cake with Vanilla Ice Cream

Chocolate Pot with Salted Caramel

Overall, the savoury dishes were all excellent. Dessert-wise, I would put a warning sign with the Chocolate Pot with Salted Caramel as this dessert was insanely sweet and even sharing it between 3 of us, we did not manage to finish it! A spoonful (or half a spoonful) was enough to satisfy any sweet tooth! The Chocolate Fudge cake though was Fabulous - still rich... but very smooth! :) Service was polite, kind and very efficient.

If you fancy treating yourself to A Lovely Weekend Brunch, 3 South Place is one to try!

Photobucket The Breakfast Club

When morning broke on this Sunday in June, it was bright, sunny, hot and beautiful!!!
Very rare for a day in London!

How better to start a day like this but with a wonderful breakfast at
The Breakfast Club near Spitalfields Market!

Thanks to Foodie Friend Rie, we discovered this well hidden place off the busy Bishopsgate Street.

We had to wait for a bit to get to our table but it was well worth it!
The Breakfast Club was buzzing with  big families, groups of friends and couples
all looking really happy and enjoying a nice breakfast, and we couldn't wait!

The interior was very casual, but the little funky objects made the place really fun.
Say hello to Mr Snoopy the Lamp. ^.^

Once seated, it was time to scan the menu and choose wisely!
My first instinct was to look what the others around were having and all looked really yummy.
Sunny side up eggs on toast came for our 'neighbours', then came the American
pancakes stacked up nicely with berries topped with syrup,

ahhhh difficult choice to make as I wanted to try everything!

Food was ordered and for drinks we had a pitcher of the Apple, Carrot and Orange Juice
with a rather strong ginger kick to start.

Shortly after, our food was served. I shall let the pictures speak for themselves!

Avocado, Poached Egg and Red Chillies served with Crispy Bacon

It was all wonderful but my favourite of today was the All American Breakfast
with the Maple Syrup! Oh and the scramble egg looked really yummy too! :p

I will probably have this on my next visit which I'm already looking forward to!

Before heading off to enjoy the rest of the day and sunlight, we finished off with a caffeine fix!
Me with my usual Latte served in the Breakfast Club - PacMan Cup
while my other half got a really nice Coffee Art with his Caramel Latte.

It was a beautiful Sunday morning and we had a wonderful time on our first
visit to the Breakfast Club.

We will surely visit again soon ...  until then ...
Happy Summer Everyone! It's finally here!!!

Photobucket Brunch at The Luxe again ...

Our latest favourite place to have breakfast : The Luxe in Spitalfields

Last time we tried it out, I had the Full English Breakfast which was a bit too much for me
and then made it a must to come back and try their Eggs Royal!

A week later, Mr. A and I were back and brought our visiting Friend K with us
for a typical English Brunch.

Being such a nice day, we started by ordering our drinks where K and I decided to have
a Virgin Bloody Mary. Not usually my kind of drink but only because it is meant
to be one of their best cocktails I had to give it a try!

Sipping through the Bloody Mary as we waited for our food to come,
it is only after I'd gone all red and feeling a bit "hot" that we realised that my drink
was actually not a Virgin Bloody Mary but one with the alcohol!

It was a bit early for me to start getting all drunk and although I did enjoy the taste of my drink,
I had to switch for an Orange juice to make sure I'd make it for the rest of the day!

It was now time for our food to arrive. Without a second glance at the menu, I knew what I wanted to have this wonderful Sunday and just went for it : Eggs Royal please :)

Needless to say, it was absolutely fabulous!
Toasted English Muffin topped with smoked salmon, perfect poached eggs and
finished with a coating of rich and glossy hollandaise sauce on top ...
Pure Bliss. It was actually better than I expected ...

As for Mr. A, he went for the Full on English Breakfast which he enjoyed very much!

As usual, we had a lovely brunch at The Luxe and it was also a super beautiful day !

Give it a go if you're around Spitalfields market on a Sunday.

Photobucket Sunday Brunch @ The Luxe - Spitalfields New Market

Another Beautiful Week-End in London for the bank holiday weekend!

To make the most of the good weather this Sunday, Mr. A and I hopped on the BBB
(Barclays-Boris-Bike) and cycled it from London Bridge all the way to Spitalfields Market,
going across Tower Bridge.

Amazing Tower Bridge!

After a good session of physical activity, it was time for brunch! I was starved! Last week we had brunch at Patisserie Valerie and it did not disappoint so I was considering going back there but Mr. A had the great idea of trying out The Luxe at Spitalfields.

The Luxe is owned by Masterchef UK judge John Torode and what is interesting with this venue is that there is a different eating and drinking experience offered on each floor. The buzzing ground floor café-bar is a pleasing spot for breakfast, brunch or a casual lunch while The basement bar (a music venue) is dark and moody. On the first floor, The Luxe offers a very different atmosphere for fine-dining.

For today, the café-bar was the perfect place to rest after our cycling trip and to feed ourselves! To keep it on a healthy note, I went for the Veggie Fresh Fruit Juice which consists of Carrots, Tomatoes, Celery and Apple Juice. So refreshing!

Mr. A went for a café- mocha which was very tasty!! :)

Just like a home-made Mocha! Mmmmm :)

The menu at The Luxe is very well organised and it didn't take us too long to decide.
This time, I decided that I would go for a Full on English Breakfast with sausage and bacon.

Oh so heavy Full English Breakfast !! Never again!!

...  while Mr. A went for a Lumber Jack with waffles, blueberry pancakes, French Toast, crepe and sausage. This option was certainly full of carbs but this dish was amazingly delicious! Topped with maple syrup, the waffle was crispy and the blueberry pancake was very light ! No wonder it was gone in minutes!! :)

The Lumber Jack

Oh wow! What a brunch! My Full English Breakfast was not particularly superb
but the place compensated for it as it did offer a nice atmosphere to spend a beautiful day in!
The Luxe has large open windows letting the sunshine in and the music was pleasant.

Definitely a place I would recommend to have a light snack and coffee on a beautiful day!

Photobucket Beautiful Easter in London! ~ Brunch at Valerie's ~

~ HAPPY EASTER ~

What a beautiful Easter Weekend!  Blessed with wonderful hot and sunny days,
there is no wonder why the parks in London have been so packed and busy
these past few days!

To celebrate Easter Sunday, Mr. A and I decided to stay away from Central
and we took a nice little walk close to home soaking up the sun.
Strolling by buzzing Spitalfields Market, we stopped for brunch at Patisserie Valerie.

Brunch at Patisserie Valerie is one of my favourite! It's uncomplicated, good selection
of choices on their menu and their Egg Benedict Royal is simply to die for!
I particularly like how they serve the poached eggs on a toasted slice of brioche
which is crunchy on the outside, but still soft on the inside. In addition, I find the
sweet taste of the brioche complimenting the hollandaise sauce and the
poached eggs wonderfully. Not to mention the smoked salmon, which is served
just in the right amount. A little bit more would overpower the dish, while a little
less would leave an unsatisfied customer! (ie. me!)  I have not yet had any better
Eggs Benedict Royal! So I'm still on the look out!

Happy Day in the Sun with Mr. A @ Patisserie Valerie

Mr. A decided to go for a Valerie's Burger to satisfy his hunger.
Served with golden French Fries and salad, it was a very copious meal!
For drinks, we both went for an Iced Caffe Frappe.

What a Wonderful Brunch it was!!

Photobucket Lunch at Hunter 486 - The Arch Hotel London

Ladies who lunch!

I remember fondly a wonderful lunch I had in the company of lovely Ladies at Hunter 486
at The Arch London Hotel in Marble Arch last year.

The Arch London is a luxury boutique hotel which I would recommend any day!
The service is friendly, uncomplicated and simply amazing.
The decor is contemporary yet comfortable and stylish.

Trying out their restaurant was an experience which we enjoyed!

For Starters, I chose to have the Celeriac soup.
I have never cooked with celeriac before and wondered what it would taste like.
And of course it's the Parmesan Croquant which attracted my attention! :p

The soup was very rich and creamy. Slightly on the salty side to my taste buds,
it did not have a lot of flavour and I still wasn't too sure what
celeriac taste was supposed to be ...
but the Parmesan Cheese Croquant just made it for me.
Crispy and the perfect accompaniment to the soup.

For our next course, we all decided to go for different mains.
And this is the selection we had.

Photobucket Birthday Brunch at Aubaine - Heddon Street

On Sunday, we celebrated my Birthday (yey!) with some of my friends
at AUBAINE for a lunch / brunch. A place I was meant to be trying out as recommended
by a Friend, another Foodie, who knows of the places to eat!

To my surprise however, after having done my booking at Aubaine on Heddon Street,
he pointed out that he loves AUBAINE located in Old Compton Road only...
Too late though. The booking was done and we were just gonna have to see for ourselves!

AUBAINE

As I walked into the little street leading to the Restaurant off busy Regent Street,
Aubaine gave a very welcoming picture with its very French feel exterior and
interior which could be seen through the big glass windows.

Since we had a private room for the event, our party unfortunately took
place in the basement area but it was still a very well
decorated and fit for private event.

Food wise, I would say that it was ok. Not amazingly Superb ... simply ok.

For starters, I chose the 'Eggs Benedict' which I was told was sublime
 ... hmm... A little disappointing, sublime it wasn't ...
But the egg was perfectly poached so I could not complain.
The hollandaise sauce was thick and creamy and I wished the piece of
toast at the bottom was a toasted brioche just the way I like it!
 Ah! Room for improvement!!
And maybe served with some greens for some balance??
The Chef should definitely be taking some tips over here!!  ;)

Photobucket Is it breakfast time ?

As morning is approaching ... ( it's almost 2am!) ... can't sleep...
I started thinking of what I could prepare for tomorrow's Sunday brunch/ breakfast
and this gave me a flash back of a wonderful brunch I enjoyed
at the Four Seasons Resort in Mauritius last summer.

No words needed ... the pictures say it all ...

{Omelette with Crispy Bacon}  or

{Twin Eggs Benedict with Duo sausages }

And this to share ...

{Platter of smoked salmon and smoked marlin accompanied with cottage cheese and avocado}

Happy Brunch!!!
Can anyone turn back time and bring back this blissful
moment of brunch food heaven?! :p
